TASKERLY LIMITED – PRIVACY POLICY

Taskerly Limited (“Taskerly,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring the lawful and transparent handling of your Personal Information in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and other applicable data protection legislation. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) outlines how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect your Personal Information when you access or use our digital marketplace platform (the “Platform”).

2. Data Controller

Taskerly acts as the Data Controller for Personal Information processed in connection with the operation and administration of the Platform. In limited circumstances, where we process data strictly on behalf of a third party (such as a payment processor) under their documented instructions, we may act as a Data Processor.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect and process the following categories of Personal Information:

3.1. Identity and Contact Data

Including but not limited to your name, telephone number, email address, postal address, and date of birth.

3.2. Verification and Financial Data

Such as your National Identification Number (NIN), Bank Verification Number (BVN), bank account details for payouts, and the outcomes of identity verification checks.

3.3. Transactional and Service Data

Including job requests, quotes, communications between Users, images, delivery evidence, ratings, reviews, and Dispute records.

3.4. Technical and Usage Data

Encompassing device identifiers, IP address, log files, cookie data, and performance analytics related to your use of the Platform.

3.5. Payment Transaction Data

Including transaction references, payment status, and chargeback indicators. We do not directly store sensitive payment card details; these are processed by our accredited third-party payment partners.

4. Lawful Basis and Purposes of Processing

We process your Personal Information under lawful bases recognised by the NDPA, including but not limited to:

    Performance of a Contract: To create and manage your account, connect you with Service Providers or Clients, process payments held in escrow, and facilitate the services you request.

  • 4.2

    Legal Obligation: To comply with our statutory and regulatory obligations, including identity verification, fraud prevention, and responses to lawful requests from public authorities.

  • 4.3

    Legitimate Interests: To enhance the safety, security, and integrity of our Platform; to prevent, detect, and investigate fraud; to resolve disputes and enforce our policies; and for service improvement, analytics, and customer support.

  • 4.4

    Consent: Where required by law, we will seek your explicit consent for specific processing activities. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your Personal Information with the following categories of recipients:

5.1. Service Providers

Under binding contract

Including payment processors, banks, identity verification agencies, cloud hosting providers, and customer support platforms.

5.2. Professional Advisers

Confidentiality bound

Such as lawyers, auditors, and consultants, subject to duties of confidentiality.

5.3. Public Authorities

Legal Compliance

Where required by law or to comply with a valid legal request from a regulatory body, law enforcement agency, or court.

5.4. No Selling

We do not sell your Personal Information.

6. International Data Transfers

Where your Personal Information is transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside Nigeria, we shall implement appropriate safeguards as required by the NDPA, which may include standard contractual clauses or ensuring the recipient is located in a jurisdiction with an adequate level of data protection.

We retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy, including for the duration of service provision, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and to comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations. Retention periods are determined based on the nature of the data and the purpose for its processing.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures designed to protect your Personal Information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. The updated version will be indicated by a revised “Effective Date” and posted on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
